The Wynn Al Marjan Island opening is set for September 2027, the month Wynn Resorts gave in its quarterly release of 4 August 2026. Since then the company has named no new date and no specific day. What is new are construction details from the beach, which the resort shared with The National in August. What follows is the current position for buyers on the island.

The essentials at a glance

  • Wynn Resorts gives September 2027 as the opening month, last confirmed in its quarterly release of 4 August 2026. No newer official statement has followed.
  • According to a statement from the resort, a 550 metre beachfront is complete and 319 metres of reef are installed, alongside a protected lagoon (The National, 11 August 2026).

When is the Wynn Al Marjan Island opening date?

The Wynn Al Marjan Island opening in Ras Al Khaimah is scheduled for September 2027, which Wynn Resorts stated twice in its second quarter 2026 release, in a quote from CEO Craig Billings and in the operational section. In the Wynn Resorts release of 4 August 2026, Billings says the resort “will open its doors to guests in September of 2027”.

Is the 2027 Wynn Al Marjan Island opening official?

Yes, as far as a construction date can be: Wynn Resorts states it to investors, and there has been no new official statement since 4 August 2026.

On 5 August 2026 the project site wynnalmarjanisland.com still listed only the year 2027, with no month. For the Wynn hotel opening date, the investor relations page of Wynn Resorts is the source that counts.

How far along is the build before the Wynn Al Marjan Island opening?

At Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, a 550 metre beachfront is complete and 319 metres of reef are installed, according to a statement from the resort reported by The National. The project also includes a protected lagoon, and the report by The National on 11 August 2026 lists snorkelling, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. A finished beach is progress you can see on site, not a date on paper.

The official project site describes a 70 storey resort tower whose spire reaches 352 metres above the sea, on a 60 hectare site. Alongside it sit 22 restaurants, bars and lounges, a beach club and a marina.

The room count is now given by The National as roughly 1,530 rooms and suites, based on the resort statement. It does not yet appear in a Wynn Resorts quarterly release, so we treat it as a press figure.

With Enclave, a hotel within the hotel, and the Coral Court Events and Celebrations Center, the Wynn Al Marjan Island opening brings a year round destination with a conference and events business, not a hotel with a casino attached. The National reports around 3,000 staff needed before launch and more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs across the wider area.

What does the resort cost, and who funds it?

The total cost of the resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is roughly USD 5.7 billion, around USD 600 million more than previously budgeted, according to The National. The figure comes from the Wynn Resorts analyst call on 4 August 2026, not from the release itself. The paper attributes the rise to higher material costs and disruption linked to the regional conflict.

The release itself shows that Wynn Resorts holds 40 percent of the joint venture building the resort. In the second quarter of 2026 the company contributed USD 48.1 million in cash, bringing its total to USD 1.06 billion.

The two belong together. A project that opens later costs more, because build time costs money. The later Wynn Al Marjan Island opening is the same news in a different unit, not a second piece of bad news.

Who runs Wynn Al Marjan Island?

Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is led by Max Tappeiner, who heads the resort with the title of president rather than chief executive. The National gives his title that way in its report of 11 August 2026.

Does Wynn Al Marjan Island have its own CEO?

Not according to the available sources. The CEO is Craig Billings, but of Wynn Resorts, the listed parent company based in Las Vegas. The resort itself is run by Max Tappeiner as president.

What does the Wynn Al Marjan Island opening mean for buyers?

The Wynn Al Marjan Island opening in September 2027 tells you about Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, but nothing about the handover of an apartment bought off plan. When your unit is finished is governed by your purchase agreement and your developer schedule, not by the quarterly release of a listed operator.

The date still matters. The Wynn Al Marjan Island opening is the reason demand has concentrated on this island over the past few years. A named month turns an expectation into a planning figure. What we deliberately will not do is turn it into a number for your rental income. A date is not a yield forecast.

So look at three points in your own contract. First, the agreed completion date and the grace period after it. Second, what happens if the developer misses that period. Third, whether your payments are tied to construction progress or to calendar dates.

Has the opening been delayed before?

Yes. In August 2026 Arabian Business framed the September date as a modest delay against the previously expected launch in spring 2027. Construction schedules remain construction schedules, even when a chief executive reads them out.
